What do you make of Rangers potentially signing Ryan Jack on a short-term contract?

acb1901533d ago

As much as I love Ryan Jack we had the same type of player in Barron who's younger and we put him out on loan which in my mind was a mistake

pranav.shahaney2d ago

I would say Jack is more technical than Barron. Barron offers more legs but not the kind of player who can get his foot on the ball and control a game

Don't see the point. Think there is enough leadership in the squad already and defo don't need more midfielders. This would be a nostalgia signing without much upside to it. Him training for a week or so with the squad is different though

pranav.shahaney2d ago

Exactly. I would take him as a coach as he could motivate the lot but not as a player

jjamieson19623d ago

Big ask. Ok to bring on for the last 25 min getting on in life.

dakir.thanveer3d ago

Why though, when we have younger players hungry for minutes and prove themselves

marlinsteven19624d ago

He is past his prime we need to move forward and build something new like ryan as a player but time to bring in fresh blood

pranav.shahaney4d ago

Yep. Thanks for the memories but let’s not re-run that play

greerzo184d ago

Just to have in the dressing room would be great for the squad and also option off the bench 🤷🏻

pranav.shahaney4d ago

But wouldn’t that hinder Dragojevic’s progress?

bigsandy13144d ago

Medically speaking, there's no such thing as 'injury prone', some players are simply unlucky enough to pick up injuries quite often. If it the same injury over and over again, it points to a specific weakness in a specific part of the players anatomy, that does not apply to Ryan Jack!

pranav.shahaney4d ago

But at 34 do you reckon he can deal with the physical nature of the league? Personally I don’t see it benefiting the team

olliemurphyrangers4d ago

I Would Take Him On A Short Term Contract At Rangers

pranav.shahaney4d ago

Where would he be in the midfielders’ pecking order?

jjamieson19624d ago

What do you's all think jack or barrons replacing raskin in the summer.

pranav.shahaney4d ago

I really hope that somebody better than those two replace Raskin who’s arguably the best player at the club

marlinsteven19624d ago

No should not happen

pranav.shahaney4d ago

Why not?

davidmcivor674d ago

I'd take him back only thing is he's injury prone maybe on a pay as you train/play contract good back up option i personally think just my opinion WATP 🔴⚪️🔵🇬🇧🤚

pranav.shahaney4d ago

I would like him to be around the dressing room and help out players in training. Not sure if him being back full time as a player would make sense

2d7rkgms684d ago

I would take him all day long, sure he has had injury problems but when you think of his leadership qualities not to mention player ability when fit, there are far worse short term options around 🇬🇧💙

pranav.shahaney4d ago

Yeah his injuries are an issue. I also get the argument that signing him is going a step backwards with Dragojevic not able to get minutes himself. He’s signed for over £4m and he needs to develop, thus, play regularly

rangers19704d ago

Great player in his time but too old now

pranav.shahaney4d ago

Would be nice to have around the club and train with the boys. If McInnes likes him then he a pay-as-you-play deal also makes sense
