← Mohamed Salah

What did you make of Salah's explosive statement before his last game for the club?

This sounds like it was aimed at Slot...

dantowen819514mo ago

Two years since Klopp chanted Arne Slot’s name at Anfield - wonder if Slot will be chanting Andoni Iraola’s at full time 😂

edhamilton544mo ago

Break the bank for Enrique, he is winning a mickey mouse league and only challenge is in CL, bring him to Anfield i think he'd have the same effect on us that city had when pep arrived.

pnair25024mo ago

Florian bought to play ball & score goals NOT like posts...cost a ton money!

josh.barker4mo ago

Think it's a bit harsh on Wirtz, so many other liked it

cacennadolig4mo ago

Salah spot on

dale.odonnell4mo ago

Salah’s comments may be accurate and side with many people’s views, but it doesn’t help Liverpool in anyway. Not too dissimilar to what Ronaldo did before he left United the second time. Bad look. Lacks class.

dantowen819514mo ago

Yeah, I’d have no issue with him saying this behind the scenes - not in public

edeose24mo ago

I STAND WITH MO

josh.barker4mo ago

Should he start against Brentford?

callum_boyle4mo ago

If this was anybody else in the Liverpool squad, nobody would be defending them. Salah has thrown Slot under the bus big time. Salah may be a legend and Slot may be under the cosh but that’s no excuse. He’s made Slot’s job harder

josh.barker4mo ago

In normal circumstances I’d agreed but this type of pressure is what’s needed for him to go, he’s hopeless and only extreme circumstances will get him gone. Salah is doing it for himself but it actually helps Liverpool

sunt.musliman4mo ago

Liverpool will be easy for everyone with slot

edhamilton544mo ago

Agreed, the fool told everyone what we dont like playing against so they all changed, bizarre.

josh.barker4mo ago

Agreed he's the problem, not Salah. Should he start on Sunday?

pnair25024mo ago

Salah performances & records speak volumes, at the end of the day though no player is bigger than the club. It would have been more fitting to leave on a dignified note

james.brooke4mo ago

Agree, his legacy will always remain intact, but he's just made sure that people will remember the way he's left as well. Doesn't necessarily damage it, but there was no need for us to remember anything but the good times!

eoin4mo ago

yeah I don't think it damages his legacy at Liverpool, but it does attach a bitter note to his exit

mojoyates24mo ago

First went on Kop in 70s. Normally I'd criticise Mo - not this time. All those pooh-poohing him should look at the dressing room video after the derby. Said it all. Mo wants us to attack Brentford and earn CL, not rely on others, I.e. a bit of self-belief and self-respect. Sometimes courtesy has to be abandoned. This is one of them.

james.brooke4mo ago

The team need a pick me up, but why does that have to be a public statement from Mo? We all know the problems of the season, it's not as though the fans are blind to it and need telling. It should have been handled behind closed doors. That it wasn't makes it seem like a bitter swipe from Mo on his way out of an exit door he feels he was forced through

soobramoneystrinivasan4mo ago

Honestly Salah is 100 % right. This coach has destroyed the identity of Liverpool's playing style. That high pressure and heavy metal football just disappeared. As for Wayne Rooney he should advice Man United players and not give his stupid suggestions about Mo Salah. Slot achieved what Klopp set up otherwise we would have been worse of. Get rid of Slot

edhamilton544mo ago

I watched the 2005 final and refused to switch off at ht and what a fight they produced, I can honestly say that this slot clown plays the most boring sideways football ever I've actually fell asleep during games, no fight, no heart, no 2nd gear most boring team in epl that season and it kills me to say that

josh.barker4mo ago

Salah has done the club a favour, no idea why Carragher and others are upset

hezireto0774mo ago

Yeah Mo is right tired of Slot's ballads we need heavy metal football once again

james.brooke4mo ago

Ballads is generous. More like elevator music!

eoin4mo ago

I'm torn down the middle, can't disagree with the message he's sending, it's nothing that fans haven't said for months, but why not wait until after the Brentford game? In for a tense atmosphere at Anfield now next weekend, not what the departing players deserve Salah included. Not handled well

auntylizard14mo ago

You see he is right in what he said.. It in my opinion was inappropriate for him to come out and say it now before the last game of the season.. I do feel though that he speaks for quite a few of the others too.

james.brooke4mo ago

Agree. It is hard to disagree really, but the veiled jabs towards the manager feel extremely unnecessary and have just fueled more division ahead of a must-win game. The others may be thinking similar, but they should show it on the pitch

freddie4mo ago

Think he is spot on. The fact Robbo has also done similar recently says a lot about the direction we are going in. We are losing too many of the big leaders next season and it's a massive worry. I think the timing is right too. The pressure need to be heightened for this game and fans need reassurance that the players are fighting and are just as unhappy!

peter.lynch4mo ago

Very strange timing really, but the state of things right now do deserve to be called out. That being said, Mo has been so poor on the pitch lately.

richardsymons684mo ago

He's bang on the money. Brave man to sour his own send off for the good of the club. This is clearly a message to FSG that I imagine quite a few of the players would agree with but are not in a position to make. I hope the Kop are roused for Sunday, we have to show the owners that the the current "style" is not acceptable.

james.brooke4mo ago

I don't believe it's brave at all. He knows exactly the send-off he will get as he knows people are so done with Slot that they will see his statement as an attack on the manager (which it is) and side with him. It feels more to me as though he's absolving himself of any responsibility for our downturn

amirmir4mo ago

He's right, but why not wait until after the final game of the season? This just makes the build-up to the Brentford game unnecessarily ugly.

james.brooke4mo ago

Exactly. It is massively self-serving and is designed to add more pressure to Slot. That is exactly what he wants to do

mrdelaneymiller4mo ago

100% correct and appropriate. He’s speaking truth and all the supporters know what he’s getting at. The club is choosing Slot over the supporters. It acts like what we’re seeing with our own eyes isn’t happening. The club is essentially calling the supporters a bunch of know nothing idiots.

james.brooke4mo ago

He's obviously right, but if we take away the Slot element, is there any need for a departing player to lecture those still at the club like this? Things were so much worse when Gerrard left, for example, but he didn't do anything like that. It just feels like Mo is leaving with a big chip on his shoulder about being dropped from the team

james.brooke4mo ago

Hate it to be honest. He seems to think he invented standards at this football club. We get it, Mo, you don’t like the manager because he sropped you. REALLY looking forward to him leaving, and that’s never something I thought I’d say at any point during his first eight years at the club. A sad end, but one totally instigated by Mo and his ego
