Without having a gap year between his F2 title and F1 debut, like he had in 2022, I think Piastri could have given Hamilton a run for his money back in 2007.

I think he would've pushed Lewis for sure, but even as good as Piastri has been in his young career, Hamilton was prodigious during this time.

Oscar Piastri (who, as a rookie in 2023, was dominated by Lando Norris) would have shown flashes of his potential if paired with Lewis Hamilton at the start of their respective careers, but the Australian would not have been a match for the Briton (who fought for the 2007 F1 title as a rookie).
