Lewis Hall set to sign Newcastle extension!
Man Utd's hopes of rekindling Lewis Hall interest next summer have been hit with a blow as the left-back is set to sign a contract extension at Newcastle. Hall is impressed by new manager Jaissle, and it remains to be seen if he has any release clause in the extension.

I believe United were negligent in not getting Spence out of Spurs. Excellent WC and sold for what, £31m. Had to be worth a punt.. Can play either side and did so in WC.

I wasn’t keen on Spence at the time as I felt there were better options- but seeing as our alternative was to go with nobody, in hindsight that £31m deal does look decent business

Football Contracts these days are barely worth the paper they are written on. Maybe means a bit more to spring him and maybe is a release clause to that effect. Changes nothing. He had a contract before and still does now. Lad cannot move till Jan or summer, so right to get extra bunce.

Unless there’s a release clause it does strengthen Newcastle’s position. I’d move on at this point. There’s a whole year to find a suitable alternative

I wouldn’t read too much into it.. I still fancy our chances of getting him next summer

Time to look elsewhere

Baleba was an opportunity, not a long-term plan. Hall was always unlikely to be a repeat. Let's see if there's a release clause because I'm not hopeful.
