Is men's tennis boring without Carlos Alcaraz?

richardmbonas2mo ago

Yes it is. His style of all court play with volleys and drop shots makes his opponent leave the baseline and come in. Thus, a more varied and exciting match. Jodar vs Fritz was a pretty boring match though the score was close. Just blasting from the baseline didn't do much for my interest. But, add in Carlos and it's a whole different and more exciting match

I think there are some new tennis players rising & that’s exciting to see instead of Sinner & alcaraz winning all the titles. That’s to predictable. We need excitement

melbournexx3mo ago

Definitely NOT. Tennis is much more than just 2 or 3 players. Besides Sinner, theres a complete"buffet" of very exciting young players: Fils, Shelton, Mensik, Draper etc. And this is why its far from boring; the variety of excellent young players.

geemymd3mo ago

Fonseca, Mensik, Jodar, Kouamé all exciting young players with bright futures and showed they had more in them at the FO

yes tennis is more than two players but it's still more exciting when Alcaraz is around. more unpredictable than Sinner, both in terms of shots and level. I haven't had enough of Sinner - Alcaraz GS Final classics with both players in form. this is as high level as it gets today. FO was the real deal, absolute classic for the ages. USO and SW19 too one sided

Yes

mbasa.mayekiso3mo ago

Yes it is boring without the compatitive spirit of Alcaraz and Sinner. He must come back, we need that spirit back.

admlopes054mo ago

For Sure. Missing the extrovert he is. Tired of Sinner.

kontiki20094mo ago

Absolutely. We are missing his delicate drop shots and unbelievable pickups.

I am not a big Sinner fan. It is a little predictable without Carlos. The rivalry between Sinner and Alcaraz is both a good thing and a bad thing for tennis. Hope someone can stop sinner at the french open, and I hope Carlos can come back and be competative.

A bit yes, however the way I see it if Sinner and Alcaraz continue to be the only dominant two then men's tennis will become boring apart from finals.

johnverrall115mo ago

This tournament certainly has been 😴

matthew.johns5mo ago

I think men's tennis was becoming a little boring with them being so dominant, but Alcaraz is undoubtedly the more entertaining out of the two and so it has left a huge hole on the ATP Tour!

george.patten5mo ago

Not boring, but it definitely feels like it's missing something.

geemymd3mo ago

yes, not only the talent, the level, the physicality.. but also the personality, seing a player enjoying tennis , even when he's losing. cheering opponents crazy shots. Will never compromise his integrity to win. he's not the type of player to play dirty, I know he was frowned upon for the AO medical TO but disagree. He was genuinely afraid of injury.
