My player ratings (and Slots) for today’s game

Rio - 5/10 Clearly talented and many bright spots but he shouldn’t who we turn to in this moment. For all his talent it’s clear he’s still young and needs game time to adapt especially physically. I’d be looking for a loan move for him if we didn’t have the attacking depth of a turtle

Ekitike - 7/10 Once again our best player going forward. Look far more dangerous in the game with him and it’s not only that but how he helps players like Wirtz get into the gap by finding gaps our other attackers can’t. Can’t wait to watch him continue to grow and develop.

Salah - 3/10 Just not good enough from Mo. Barely involved in the game and so sloppy when he got the ball was struggling to get by his man. It’s no longer a rough patch it’s a rough season far below his standards making me wonder if we’re watching the decline of Salah as a top player.

Gakpo - 5/10 For as much as I’m not a fan of him as a player sometimes I’m not unbiased. I have to say that I far prefer him as a second striker than as a winger he provides so much more centrally. The only issue is Ekitike is still better but I’m more than happy using Gakpo off the bench or even trying as a second striker next to Ekitike

Wirtz - 5/10 I’m a big fan of Wirtz but this wasn’t his best game by any stretch. Still had glimpses of creativity and skill but it’s hard to create much when there’s no one to finish anything off. I do wish he’d impose himself more on games and try take them by the scruff of the neck and get us wins on games like this

Szobo - 7/10 Once again our leader in today’s game fights for everything and also pivotal going forward. Can’t really say anything other than more of the same for our POTS so far.

Jones - 5/10 Similar to Endo really but more impactful I like Jones in his current role of just coming on and being a serviceable option. But he’s not a needle mover and can’t really put his mark on a game like this so he was never going to really earn much more

Mac Allister 5/10 Practically identical to Gravenberch and I think one of them will probably be gone after this season or at least not starting because it’s clear we need a more physical impact at DM. Just up to whether we want a second midfielder more akin to Ryan or Macca I suspect the former to let Szobo and Wirtz shine

Gravenberch 5/10 again nothing awful but the midfield has been a constant weak spot of this team. It’s clear that this can’t be the long term midfield going forward. Gravenberch had some decent exchanges and a couple chances but simply can’t be conceding 3 goals.

Endo - 5/10 I feel like Endo is just one of those players who the game kind of passes by. He does what he needs to do and that’s about it which is what he’s here for so fair enough

nikforrester38mo ago

Robertson - 6/10 In what might be his final Liverpool game Robbo did himself proud with a solid performance. Looked fresh was positive with the ball and still had that tenacity that we all love him more. Should be a good addition for Spurs.

Gomez - 5/10 Was solid up until his injury but here we are once again with Gomez and at this point I can never see him as any solution he will always just be a good hand that’s versatile and can fit in for injuries before it inevitably happens to him. Can’t help but feel bad for him.

Van Dijk - 3/10 Would’ve been lower if it weren’t for the goal but simply not good enough from who’s supposed to be the one guarantee in our backline. At fault for both goals with a lazy clearance attempt in the first and poor positioning for the second. Poor especially for his standard.

Kerkez - 4/10 Thought he was fine if a little underwhelming in his return to Bournemouth. A little lackadaisical on the 2nd goal but fine other than that. Not sure why he was subbed maybe for fitness/injury problems?

nikforrester38mo ago

Allison - 5/10 Could’ve maybe done a little better at the end but nothing could be done about the first two goals made some good saves aside just cannot go higher when you’ve conceded 3 goals

Frimpong 6/10 yet again a bright spot in a rather bleak overall display. Energetic and a threat down that right channel and can’t believe he was taken off. He’s probably the one defensive position I can be most sure for looking forward he really seems to have cemented his place for the future to come.
