I still don’t understand how this went so badly wrong. Championship winners in 2014, Premier League winners in 2016, QF of Champions League in 2017 and FA Cup Winners in 2021. Now they are 17th in League One - one point out of the relegation zone. What happened ?

Just completely calamitous. Martin is clearly not the answer. Embarassing at this point!

Unbelievable drop off, truly can’t believe it and I’m sure the fans can’t either, sad to see!

Honestly, they have not been the same since Vichai passed in 2018. The Leicester we watched a decade ago are long gone and back to the sorry state they spent the decade prior in

They’ve lost their identity from what I can tell! Not sure what Leicester stand for anymore!

It’s so sad to see a club that was run brilliantly for so long reach new depths. Martin going is vital, but unfortunately won’t solve everything. Really feel for the fans

In short: After finishing 5th & winning FA Cup in 2021, we went against our model for the first time and didn’t sell a key asset. We overspent by trying to be ambitious and finished 8th in 2022… missing out on Europe. That severely restricted our budget that summer, lost Schmeichel and Fofana… resulted in relegation. We went down to champ with huge wage bill

We went straight back up but that year we breached PSR rules… we had to sell our promotion winning manager Enzo Maresca to Chelsea and our best player Dewsbury-Hall…. we went straight back down to champ… we then got our PSR punishment and were docked points which led to a relegation to League One… the culture around the club was all wrong….

Short term answer is Russell Martin is a terrible manager but the problems lie far deeper than that - bad recruitment, bad appointments - look at the owners
