Is Danny Rohl's treatment of James Tavernier a sackable offence?
He did not start Tavernier in his final Ibrox game...
eddiemartin553mo ago
Danny Roli wet between the ears showed No Respect to Tav, time to get him out, proved he cannot handle the pressure
geobrown66784mo ago
We're a club built on tradition, values and respect. Rohl needs to learn that or go. I would expect that behavior in the East end of the city it's not acceptable at Ibrox
pranav.shahaney3mo ago
I think Rohl received a big reality check after that. Hopefully he learns from it
iainmcp124mo ago
He should have led the team out and played 15mins and then go off with an unknown injury.Total embarrassment for a player who stayed with the club throughout the darkest days for the club. The clubs hierarchy should have stepped in to stop this embarrassment
dakir.thanveer4mo ago
Although it seems Cavenagh and Rohl are on the same page. Looks like they agree on what's needed. What do you think? Been personally impressed by the way Cavenagh has carried himself
fotheringham.diane4mo ago
Absolutely no-one in ANY business should treat anyone like that on their 'last day's regardless what was/ was not agreed. I repeat, in ANY job!
dakir.thanveer4mo ago
So true! Still can't wrap my head around it. Reckon it's a sackable offence from Rohl? Sign of things to come?
duffyturnbull4mo ago
Danny rohl is weak. And not rangers manager material. It was wrong what he done. We need a man as a manager not a mouse. Graham Souness or a Walter Smith. RiP. And too much information is leaking out off Ibrox. And start talking back to SFA. Its all to soft
pranav.shahaney4mo ago
Absolutely. He has a huge job to do to win over the fans. The dressing room is not a happy place at this point.
george86robertson4mo ago
Taverner would only have gone round the crowd for money 💰 with his 🥣 and been posted missing in defence again anyway?
pranav.shahaney4mo ago
That's kind of harsh on a club legend. He's faced the music when a lot of the other players have hidden and then left.
jamie.brown824mo ago
His treatment of Tav has been embarrassing!!
dakir.thanveer4mo ago
Reckon it's a sackable offence?
fan4mo ago
pranav.shahaney4mo ago
Still irks me that he couldn't. He'll be back at Ibrox for his testimonial and will get it then surely.
dakir.thanveer4mo ago
Such a shame

Manager picks the team, end of. But let's be honest here, I've seen guys, unfit captains, lead their team out on the last day, only to be substituted within 5 minutes, prearranged. This could have been handled so much better. I look at Danny Rohl differently now. Still our gaffer, but if I was a player I'd be cautious
dakir.thanveer4mo ago
I agree. Manager's decision is final,, but still can't wrap my head around why Rohl would handle it the way he did it. If he wanted to make a statement, it hasn't gone down well, has it?
blennie244mo ago
Tav love him or not deserved to get proper send off like Mikey Moore did. Thats probably the reason he was taken off in the last 10. Good luck Tav you will be missed
pranav.shahaney4mo ago
Tavernier is a legend. Who would you like to replace him?
luanabarrett30204mo ago
I wouldn't sack but James Tavernier should've had a better send off than he did he should've played and gave him more respect than he got.
dakir.thanveer4mo ago
That's fair. It's a shame that his final Ibrox appearance turned out like that. Sums up the club's situation at the minute
macwill0004mo ago
Its time to go,he thinks english. championship has better players than scots he has no tactical plans and not one defender knows how to tackle.
pranav.shahaney4mo ago
Looks like he’s here for the foreseeable future. Reckon he turns things around this summer?
mariongracie4224mo ago
Disgusting, left a dirty taste in my mouth. Tav never let ue down, he is a gentleman and was loyal to the club. I have lost a bit of respect for danny rohl.
garypscobbie4mo ago
No. Tavs should have done what manager said. Many top.players at Rangers have came on at half time in last game. We will be a better team without his infuence. Trying to get one last manager the sack. Worse captain in Rangers history..image he acted like that with Walter?
crawfordharvey15604mo ago
Not sackable but still outrageous treatment of our captain. Totally meaningless game, and Rhol couldn't start Tav? Not on after 11 years faithful service.
pranav.shahaney4mo ago
Exactly. They even had conversations in the days leading up to the game. Could have been handled better and privately. Just a shame.
colinhartley404mo ago
No sackable but still disrespectful
colinhartley404mo ago
It's the gaffers job
pranav.shahaney4mo ago
Rohl could have dealt with it better.
george86robertson4mo ago
Tavernier probably wanted to go round the ground with his plate to get more money.
markgwatson254mo ago
More respect needed
garypscobbie4mo ago
Tav did what Tavs always does. Thinks hes a manager. Coming on at half time he would have got a Great response. The managers decision is final. I" ll make sure you get on. No, he takes a huff. Walks out like a child then posts that pathetic social media post? Him going to instigram wiyh leaving statement caused this. 5 games to go lost us league. Imo
pranav.shahaney3mo ago
I don’t think he should be blamed for the bad end to the season but yeah, it should have been handled better. The dressing room needs better characters and they need to be brought in this summer
bigsandy13144mo ago
I have to comment on the Sutton piece. If anyone running this site thinks for a single second, that Rangers Supporters are in the tiniest bit interested in what that fud Sutton has to say, then, you're obviously not one of us, and don't know us at all!!
allanglosterwyatt4mo ago
It looks like rohl has undone all his hard work captain tav was entitled to lead the team out for the final home game of the season I fear because of this the dressing room will turn against him and he is loosing the respect of the fans with loosing 3 out of 5 games
pranav.shahaney4mo ago
It is going to be difficult for Rohl to come back from this. We don't even know who's on his side currently.
garypscobbie4mo ago
That could be because Tav broke club protacol and went to instigram to announce his departure with 5 games to go. Dont tell me he didnt think this would affect his team mates. Danny stood up to him. Glad hes gone. Serial loser. All about personal acheivement. Since Gerrard he and his clique have had multiple mansgers sacked. Better rid. New owners spotted it
rae.stephen4mo ago
After all that Tav has done for this club, he should've been given a much bigger and better send off by the club. If there was a problem between him and Rohl, then it should've been put to one side to honour a true Ibrox legend.
garypscobbie4mo ago
Whats he done? Win 1 league in 11 years? Common
dakir.thanveer4mo ago
Exactly. At the end of the day, it does not do Rohl and his hopes of staying on Rangers manager any favours. Unless he's looking for an out himself
trebladick4mo ago
You don't treat loyal players that way.
davyscott8585854mo ago
He should have lead the team out and allowed to lead the team one last time. What a service this man has provided for our club yet shame the players that have come and gone didn't have same commitment as Tav , all the best
dakir.thanveer4mo ago
Agree. Do you think there's any truth to Rohl saying Tav wasn't fit enough to start?
gerryferry904mo ago
Captain disappointment deserves far better even though he's the biggest serial loser in rangers history
pranav.shahaney4mo ago
Why would you call him that? It's a bit harsh.
stewartjohn0864mo ago
Terrible way for captain to be treated absolutely disgraceful
garypscobbie4mo ago
Terrible way for captain to treat manager and team. Announce his leaving with 5 games to go in run in. Walks out because the manager he would get better responce coming on as sub..like many in their last game have done. But no he causes drama. That affected players. Personal acheivement player. Not interested in club winnig trophies. Proved it, childish
pranav.shahaney4mo ago
Agreed. Rohl needed to communicate better with him. Now, he's lost some fans that were otherwise backing him.
kimber.jean4mo ago
Danny was wrong in not letting Tav play his last game as captain. After 11 years as a solid reliable player with few injuries and a great history
pranav.shahaney4mo ago
Absolutely. And if Tavernier was injured and not cleared to start by the physios, it is something that needed to be discussed days before the game. To have Tavernier leaving Ibrox ahead of the game is shameful.
dakir.thanveer4mo ago
Reckon this affects the way board views Rohl?
