People are overrating longevity imo, longevity shouldn't matter if you're not fighting good competition, ilia is at a really competitive era and division right now so we'll see where it goes from here. He has to be careful with his return

Maybe. For me, longevity is part, but not all of it. During the reign, I want to see upcoming stars of different styles arrive on the doorstep and sent packing. Ronda Rousey seemed to dominate...until trained punchers and kickers arrived.

Beating Arman and winning a belt at welterweight certainly puts him in the conversation but I still think longevity and title defenses are a huge part of the GOAT conversation.

Longevity is key. It's not about who you beat it's about how long you stay on top. He needs to stay at LW and dominate for years.

I genuinely think if he beats Gaethje (which I think he will), and then he goes on to beat Arman Tsarukyan he has to be in the conversation, regardless of whether he fights and beats Islam Makhachev.
