Is it time for the UFC to strip Tom Aspinall?

The UFC heavyweight champion is yet to be cleared to return from the eye injuries he suffered almost a year ago.

Tom should vacate the belt so the division can move on.but as doon as he is medically cleard then he gets a title shot..

Absolutely not, not when Tom has been saying he’s ready for some time. If they were going to do it, it should’ve been before the White House.

Are we serious? Jon Jones gets to sit on the belt for however long without a single fight? Whilst ducking the interim champ? But na we strip aspinall now because of a situation completely outside of his control. Seems reasonable.

Tom has been sitting out nearly as long now. Love the guy but at some point the division has gotta be allowed to move on.

I’m always really torn on this. Isn’t this the exact reason why an interim title exists? If a champion is actively trying to return and has plans to return, I don’t think they should be stripped. If that’s the case then never ever implement an interim title again.

Would be such a shame but it’s probably fair enough at this point. As long as he gets the shot once he’s healthy

Big fan but it’s getting close to that point. I think anything more than a year without a belt being defended is a travesty. Hope he is cleared soon.
