I’d have them lower but that takeover could really spur them on in the second half of the season. Positive signs but don’t think they’ll make the play offs this season

Looking at their squad, they seem to have a strong XI but overall squad depth seems susceptible. Could be why they won't be in line for promotion

I view Derby in that 6th-12th pack who will likely be separated by 10 points, could easily see a play-off run but do think the Rams are going to struggle against the top sides

Toughest championship season to predict in years, derby fall in the 5-15 range and can't be much more accurate than that

Don’t necessarily know if they will finish as high as fifth, but I think the two extra play-off spots provide a huge opportunity for clubs like Derby - I think they will be in them!

As the squad stands they will be absolutely nowhere near the play offs even with the new format. One proper winger is Corey Blackett Taylor. Enough said...

You can make a case for any side contending for the play-offs. These lot are just okay and will finish top half. Like 11th maybe

I’m really not sold on them this season. I think it’ll be mid table but I can’t see a promotion push. Just too many sides have stronger squads

The expectation is rightly the play-offs - then it will be a lottery. Derby have a decent starting 11, but the squad remains relatively thin. Automatic promotion isn’t on the cards.
