Why do you think he won't succeed? He did so well last time. Knows the club, fans, and the expectations. McInnes would be my go-to pick, but I would not mind Gerrard 2.0 either

None of them. Gerrard's record is far from spectacular. McInnes, who, contrary to the usual media bullshit, was not offered the job, before. He was offered only the opportunity to speak to Rangers, turned us down. No second chances. Plus, he hasn't won a damned thing in management, worth talking about. Muscat, again, had his chance, knocked us back.
