After his success as England's ODI captain, does Harry Brook have what it takes to be the new Test match leader? If not, who should be the new captain? ©️

I don’t think Brook is quite ready to lead them out in Test match cricket. I’d honestly give it to Root, if he would be up for it, until the end of the Ashes and then let Brook take over. Gives the new coach an experienced head at the helm before England really move into the future

I totally agree! I think Root is the best option to lead the team for now but I think Brook deserves a chance at being test captain down the line. He’s proven he can be a great ODI captain but is lacking a little maturity that Root has!

I would give it to Brook. He still needs to mature and take better responsbility, but perhaps being Test skipper and a new coach will kick that into him!?

Couldn’t agree more with this. The lack of other options is a big concern

I think Brook & Baz have something good going in the white ball. I’d leave them to it and find someone else for the test team
