Mark Clattenburg says the ref got it WRONG! 😱 But what's your verdict?

There always getting it wrong no changes in that system same old mistakes then coming out after the game an stating the ref got ot wrong no VAR GOT IT WRONG. VAR NEEDS TO GO PERIOD

If the grappling and falling were to be against Sunderland...nobody will comment. Stop press. Let the ball roll.

kilham.max3w ago

Yeah, I mean it was an absolute howler. Screams a lack of real-game understanding.

will.butcher3w ago

How VAR have missed that is mad. But justice was done - Raya still one of the best players, and influential players, in the PL

Clattenburg spot on here

kyle.dimond3w ago

Definitely in favour of this new rule but think this being the first prominent example of it is a bad look. I think Ballard makes it look like a penalty when it shouldn’t have been one

chillout3w ago

I think for me the issue is that if referees apply the exact standard consistently, they will be forced to award penalties in every single game. Is that what we want ?

jordan.harris3w ago

Just annoying what this will do to those Arsenal fans who think there is some sort of conspiracy against them

leeclarke05083w ago

Kudos to the referee for cautioning the insufferable Arteta. Reminds me of this fella on the touchline...

scully.derek2w ago

go watch Alev Fuc..ason,when there didnt have a technical area

jonny3w ago

Come on now, the rules are clear. Konsa fell down on top of Ballard, has to be punished for it. Rule was only brought in because of Arsenal’s ridiculous corner grappling and now they’re dealing with the consequences 🤝

scully.derek2w ago

Johnny came lately ......Ballard was the one to drop Konsa ...obviously you havent seen it

wanjalapaul5063w ago

We are used to it and we're there to swallow the bitter pills anyway..🤝🤝

I knew it was a shocker of a decision at the time. Clueless commentators didn’t even clock it either. Embarrassment from PGMOL. Needs ripping up and starting over

kyle.archer3w ago

TNT's commentators seemed desperate for a Sunderland win all game, so it was no surprise they sided with the penalty

shamanth.jayaram3w ago

Shocking decision. Can understand the ref getting it wrong, but what are the people in the VAR booth doing?

seanfisher3w ago

Feels like we’ve said this sentence too many times, they’re useless

kyle.archer3w ago

The on-field ref and the VAR simply ticking the box to show the Premier League that they are clamping down on grappling but, whilst doing so, ignoring the fact that Ballard grabbed Konsa's shirt and threw himself to the floor to con them into giving a penalty.

camerondesc13w ago

He’s absolutely spot on. I can’t believe they got this decision wrong on the pitch.
