How happy are you that Arne Slot is leaving Liverpool?!

sgx2k88dky4mo ago

In what business venture are you given more capital than any of your competitors after you were the top of all your competitors the year before? Then your investors are told it will take time to develop that investment. Nowhere.

james.brooke4mo ago

Football is not like any other venture, though. The £450m needs context in that we also ripped out half of a successful team and didn't replace what we needed to replace. Add to that the injuries, and you can't just look at the figure spent. We also spent nothing the year before, so there's that thrown in too

david.comerford4mo ago

On balance, I think he deserved more time and I do feel for him, but if he lost the dressing room, that was always going to be curtains

adrianngy4mo ago

rzammit564mo ago

very happy he is not good to manage liverpool

vwli4mo ago

Ecstatic. He lost the fan base, and our identity as a club.

james.brooke4mo ago

What happens if the next manager struggles to hit the ground running though? Fans will get toxic again, we never used to be like this!

peter.lynch4mo ago

Surprising and unsurprising at the same time, but overall the right decision I think!

sivvymoodley14mo ago

News everyone was expecting..he was an embarrasment .

james.brooke4mo ago

I don't think anyone was expecting it really? All the noise was that he was staying.

welling4x44mo ago

All the fans saw it, Slopps back room staff saw it FSG didn't see it early enough.we lost Xabi , & now he wants a Happy Shopper Manager.FSG Go BIG, Luis Enrique, Or Zinadin Zidane. They would be Great Signings,Ariola Not so Great.

welling4x44mo ago

His Sacking made my weekend, Well nearly need PSG to Actually wake up & Score some goals. FFS, Luis Enrique or Zedan would be a Great replacement.

edhamilton544mo ago

Absolutely ecstatic

trevorlikeslfc114mo ago

Extremely happy

mojoyates24mo ago

The right decision. Thanks so much for 24/25 but your way of playing this season is not the Liverpool way. Good luck in the future.

james.brooke4mo ago

Where do you think he''ll land? And will you support him?

pnair25024mo ago

elated.....long overdue

james.brooke4mo ago

Thoughts on Iraola?

jafthabj64mo ago

First part of managing this club is connecting with the fans. Once you lose the fans it becomes an impossible job. We don't demand success as a devine but effort and fighting spirit is not negotiable.

james.brooke4mo ago

Yep, 100%. Do you think some of the fans will look back and feel a little bit bad though? Don't think he's deserved a lot of the vitriol that has come his way

higherwoodfordfarm4mo ago

6 months too late, annoyed that a season was written off on the off chance that Slot turned it around, everyone else could see it!

james.brooke4mo ago

I feel that way a little bit too to be honest. We genuinely could've won the Champions League, and if it's Iraola, then we probably could have hired him mid season anyway. What are your expectations for next season now?

mrdelaneymiller4mo ago

Extremely relieved. Nothing personal against Slot and the supporters are very appreciative of the title. But things were clearly and consistently going in the wrong direction. I wish Arne success at his next club.

james.brooke4mo ago

Agree Delaney, how do you think he’ll ultimately be remembered? I really hope it’s for last season rather than this one

james.brooke4mo ago

Happy is the wrong word. Hes a good man and has held himself with class all the way through some. All the best Arne, thank you

charlesjones4mo ago

I think it's a harsh decision. Won the league in season one, Champions League qualification in season two, if the two seasons were flipped around he'd be considered a legend

josh.barker4mo ago

if my grandma had wheels, etc... he had to go, fanbase had completely turned

dantowen819514mo ago

Will always be remembered for winning the league - the second ever to do it, we shouldn’t forget - but clearly lost his grip on the squad

chrisshelley454mo ago

About time he couldn't manage a net ball team

james.brooke4mo ago

Harsh.

vatsal4mo ago

Now they can do the right thing and bring Xabi in. Wait.....

jordanellis7764mo ago

Very happy. Actually shocked by the decision. I thought the board would 100% back him going into a new season.

james.brooke4mo ago

You and me both mate, but FSG do retain that ability to surprise. This is why we love football

lee.connor4mo ago

Don't have much feeling towards him but he seemed to develop and air of arrogance after winning the title. Clearly a lot of the squad aren't having him anymore so he had to go.

james.brooke4mo ago

He upset so many fans with his blunt messaging. Really rubbed people up the wrong way and seemed to keep making things worse for himself. Honestly think he would’ve got away with the bad results and terrible football if he’d have been slightly less aloof

vatsal4mo ago

Belittling the achievements of your predecessor who had Anfield singing your name before you arrived is not ideal, to say the least

matthew.johns4mo ago

Surprised at the timing, but it has been a very poor follow-up season for Liverpool after winning the title

dantowen819514mo ago

The timing is really odd. Why not do it sooner when Alonso so clearly wanted the job?

edhamilton544mo ago

Wwoooohooooo thank f#ck hopefully we can now kill the biting sideways football and end being the most boring team in the pl. About time thankyou fsg.

james.brooke4mo ago

What are you expecting from Iraola?

auntylizard14mo ago

Okay here comes my thoughts yeah you all knew it was coming lol! I think it has been planned for sometime why else would certain managers choose to leave certain clubs. I am pleased I do believe he lost the dressing room I think he knew it was coming too.

auntylizard14mo ago

James I said before the forest game that something was off with the team. The forest game just confirmed it to me. I am all for giving managers a go but you cannot deny the drop off in performance and the predestrian football.. You cannot walk a ball into the net.

james.brooke4mo ago

I agree. It would be interesting to hear at what point they started to come to this decision. I think a lot of fans knew it was untenable after the Forest defeat

walkercharlie8284mo ago

It was the right call, but waiting so long is such a clear sign that the decision making at the club simply isn't on par with the other big hitters in the league. They were always going to do it, so why wait?

dantowen819514mo ago

💯

jonathan.gorrie4mo ago

Feels like everyone is pretty happy but the club have still made a mess of it by waiting for so long? Making a quicker decision was such an easy way of uniting the fan base 😂

jonny4mo ago

Poor decision, he won a league title 12 months ago and has had so many different factors to contend with this season! Also if Liverpool had been more decisive they could’ve had Alonso… huge mess all around

harvey.leonard4mo ago

What a downfall from last season, and after spending half a billion in the summer. Probably the right decision but took too long.

chillout4mo ago

antonymmartin844mo ago

Good decision to sack him but utterly bizarre they wait until now and missed out on Xabi as a result.

chillout4mo ago

Xabi will be available by Christmas

jonny4mo ago

Paints a picture of Liverpool being a bit of a mess right now

billy.meyers4mo ago

Definitely the right decision, the end to the season was truly unacceptable ❌ I’m 99.99% sure Iraola will come in, considering it was Richard Hughes who hired him for Bournemouth - very exciting appointment if so!

jonny4mo ago

Iraola will be chased out by the Kop next summer - his style is fine for a small club but doesn’t suit Liverpool!

jameslloyd14.jl4mo ago

As a rival fan, not at all! Wasn't worried about them next season but now Iraola feels like a dream fit

james.brooke4mo ago

Be worried!

jordan.harris4mo ago

If it’s Iraola coming in, think it’s a good move

freddie4mo ago

BUZZING! Thank you for everything Arne but it was the right time. Now need to move forward and get back on track!!!!

jonny4mo ago

Terrible decision timing wise. Nobody on the market is a safe bet to be better than him next season

aikansh.chaudhary4mo ago

The timing seems so weird 😳

george.patten4mo ago

He was never going to turn it round when he lost the fans. Interesting to see who they bring in now

josh.barker4mo ago

It feels so bizarre to waste an enitre season on him, he gets CL football, which was apparently all Liverpool wanted, and then he still leaves anyway after Alonso is already at Chelsea. What a mess from Hughes and Edwards

jonny4mo ago

Huge mess from Liverpool, can’t help but feel there’s little planning behind this or he’s been told something like they can’t spend this summer - surely you announce it sooner and get Alonso if it was always the plan?

caleb.sage4mo ago

Done it sooner and would’ve had Alonso. I know this season was bad, but is Iraola leagues above Slot? That’s the name I’m hearing.

james.brooke4mo ago

I don’t think they ever rated Alonso. If they wanted him, he’d have been there
